Hey there! Ready to get your summoning chain started? Normal Summoning is a great way to get the ball rolling in any duel. It’s the first step in getting your monsters out on the field and ready for battle. Plus, it’s super easy - just pick one of your monsters from your hand and put it on the field! With a Normal Summon, you can start building up an awesome strategy that’ll help you take down your opponent. So what are you waiting for? Let’s get this show on the road!
Does Normal Summoning Start A Chain? [Solved]
Even though the Summon itself won’t start a Chain, the Trigger Effect will still kick in. So don’t worry, you’re still good to go!
Activation: The player activates a card or effect that allows them to Summon a monster from their hand or Extra Deck.
Response: The opponent has the opportunity to respond with an effect that would negate the Summon, such as Solemn Judgment or Solemn Warning.
Resolution: If the opponent does not respond, then the Summon resolves and the monster is Special Summoned to the field.
Trigger Effects: Any Trigger Effects of monsters that were Summoned are activated at this point, such as those of Effect Veiler and Thunder King Rai-Oh.
Chain Link 1: The player can now activate an effect in response to their own Summon, such as Mystical Space Typhoon targeting an opposing Spell/Trap Card or Book of Moon targeting one of their own monsters in order to protect it from destruction effects like Dark Hole and Raigeki Break.
Chain Link 2+: If either player responds with another card or effect, then additional Chain Links are created until both players pass without responding further (or until one player runs out of cards).
A normal Summoning chain is when you use a card effect to Summon a monster from your hand, then use that monster’s effect to Summon another one, and so on. It’s like a domino effect - one card leads to the next! It’s pretty cool; you can build up an awesome field of monsters in no time. Plus, it’s super satisfying when it all comes together!
