Anatomy: Ducks have a long, slender neck and webbed feet that help them swim. They also have a waterproof outer layer of feathers that keep them warm and dry.
Diet: Ducks are omnivores, meaning they eat both plants and animals. They feed on insects, worms, small fish, crustaceans, mollusks, seeds, grains and aquatic vegetation.
Habitat: Ducks can be found in freshwater wetlands such as ponds, lakes and rivers as well as saltwater habitats like estuaries and coastal areas.
Migration: Many species of ducks migrate seasonally to find food or better breeding grounds during the winter months when food is scarce in their home range.
Breeding: During the breeding season ducks form monogamous pairs which will stay together until the next breeding season begins again in springtime when they will find new mates if necessary for successful reproduction of their species
