Got your passport ready? Great! You’ll need to make sure you meet the requirements for the job you’re applying for. If you’re from abroad, you gotta be 18 or older and have a Visa. But if you live in the UK, no worries - just 16 and up with a biometric residency card and you’re good to go!
Eligibility: To be eligible to join the Royal Marines, you must be a U.S. citizen and at least 17 years old.
Training: All recruits must complete 32 weeks of basic training at the Commando Training Centre in Lympstone, England before being assigned to a unit.
Physical Fitness: You must pass a physical fitness test that includes running, swimming and press-ups in order to join the Royal Marines.
Education Requirements: You must have completed high school or equivalent education in order to join the Royal Marines as an American recruit.
Language Requirement: You must demonstrate proficiency in English language skills prior to joining the Royal Marines as an American recruit, including reading comprehension and writing ability tests administered by the British military recruitment office in your area of residence or origin (if applicable).
Background Check: All applicants are subject to background checks conducted by both U.S and British authorities prior to being accepted into service with the Royal Marines as an American recruit
