Joining the Royal Marines is no small feat - it takes guts, determination and a whole lot of hard work. But if you’re up for the challenge, you could be part of an incredible team that’s been around since 1664. Yep, that’s right - women can now join the ranks and earn their Green Beret! So if you’re ready to take on one of the toughest jobs in the world, then this could be your chance to make history.
History: Female Royal Marines have been serving in the British Armed Forces since 2016, when the first group of women were accepted into the Corps.
Training: All female Royal Marines must complete a 32-week training course at the Commando Training Centre Royal Marines (CTCRM) in Lympstone, Devon.
Roles: Female Royal Marines can serve in a variety of roles including combat, logistics, engineering and medical support roles.
Uniforms: Female Royal Marines wear the same uniform as their male counterparts and are expected to adhere to the same standards of dress and deportment as all other members of the Corps.
Equality: The acceptance of female recruits into the Corps has been seen as an important step towards greater gender equality within Britain’s armed forces and wider society more generally.
